Jan Lohstroh holds a master’s in applied physics from the Technical University in Delft and a PhD in electronic engineering from the Technical University of Eindhoven.
He worked 36 years for Philips (16 years in Philips Research, 10 years Philips Semiconductors, 6 years in Philips Consumer Electronics and 4 years in Philips Intellectual Properties & Standards) in various research-, innovation- and business-responsibilities up to the level of Senior Vice President.
In Consumer Electronics he was the General Manager of the Philips worldwide Digital Systems Labs; during that period he was one of the two founding fathers of the EUREKA Cluster ITEA. His last job in Philips was COO of Philips IP&S.
After his Philips-period he started his own one-man firm “Lohstroh Consultancy”. His main client is the ARTEMIS Industry Association, for which he performs the part-time function Secretary General.
